Flanging is a form of phasing that creates alinear harmonic response across the audiospectrum. The result is a swooshing that, at itsmost extreme, recalls the sound produced bya passing jet. I was promptly addicted to theFL9’s airy flanging, which rode the frequencyof my sustained signal like a surfer riding thecrest of a wave.
